The
attributes of the learner profile represent a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that include intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) learner profile represents 10 attributes supporting students in becoming responsible members of local, national and global communities. The profile aims to develop learners who are:
- Inquirers knowledgeable
-
Thinkers
- Communicators
- Principled
- Open-minded
- Caring
- Risk-takers
- Balanced
- Reflective
When students exercise agency they take ownership of their learning, express their ideas and opinions, and reflect on their development of the learner profile attributes. Students should be given a range of opportunities to:
- develop
- demonstrate
- celebrate
- appreciate
- value and
- reinforce
attributes of the learner profile in their daily life.
All members of the learning community play an important part in valuing, appreciating, demonstrating and celebrating the learner profile in action.
